Universal Boschi acetylene plants are fabricated on the most modern and versatile designs of ING. L. & A. Boschi of Italy. The acetylene gas plant is manufactured in accordance to the highest quality standards in the world. All the fabricated vessels are welded as per the standard CE norms. All weld joints are subject to dp test at every layer 100% radiography and then finally subjected to hydraulic test. The raw materials are taken from CE approved vendors and components from the international market.

Component of Acetylene Gas Plants

1. Acetylene Generator

The medium pressure acetylene generator is stationary carbide to water automatic generator with twin hoppers. Acetylene is generated as a result of the chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water. The plant is designed and developed to generate acetylene at a pressure of 7 psi.

 

2. Condenser

 

The condenser cools and purifies the gas and thereby condensing the excessive moisture. Cooling water is circulated on the shell side from bottom to top. Condenser is designed to suit all local conditions provided sufficient water flow is maintained.

 

3. Low Pressure Dryer

 

The solid anhydrous calcium chloride at atleast 80% purity in this pressure vessel absorbs the moisture in the gas. It becomes fluid and is collected at the bottom and drained.

 

4. The LP Purifier

This vessel divided into 2 sections by wire mesh framework each section charged of purifying mass. The chemicals in the purifying mass absorb impurities like H2S phosgene.

 

5. Ammonia Scrubber

This device is a vertical vessel of Boschi Italy design with a level gauge and water make-up line. A particular level as marked on the level indicator has to be maintained for efficient working. All the water soluble impurities like ammonia are scrubbed/removed in the Ammonia scrubber.

 

6. Acetylene Compressor

The acetylene compressor is a multi-stage compressor which is immersed in a water tank to avoid any pressurized gas to come in contact with air and also to make sure that all the components are continuously cooled for highest safety. The compressor is driven by a flame proof electric motor.

7. High Pressure Drier

High Pressure Drier Three Stage filled with special packings and anhydrous chloride to alleviate impurities from the compressed acetylene gas.

 

8. Filling Manifold

Filling Manifold with two headers non return valves flashback arrestor pressure gauges and control valve.
