How to set the Mat

Method for laying antistatic floor mat
1. Requirements on floor
1). The floor shall be the wet rubbing, ceramic or wooden floor;
2). It shall be flat, without obvious undulation, and with the roughness less than 2‰;
3). It shall be in enough strength, without sand streak or scaling.
4). The floor shall be dry.
2. Construction procedures and methods
1). Clean the floor with #120 gasoline or xylene (with cleaning machine);
2). Lay the copper bars or aluminum bars, when the copper bars are 0.02mm thick and 30mm wide, the
length and number shall be subject to the actual requirements during laying, and lead one end of the
copper bars to ground.
3). After laying the grounding grid, clean the dry floor, coat the conductive glue, and allow it to dry for
20 – 30 minutes until it is not sticky. Repeat the same procedures for the bottom of the antistatic floor
mat (black), but coat the conductive glue once. Then bind the antistatic plastic on the floor, roll 5 times
with heavy roller, to make it flat and smooth. Allow it to stay for 48 hours under normal temperature
before use.
4). Construct under the ambient temperature not less than 25°C and the humidity not more than4525°C,
and well ventilated.
5). Ensure the resistivity of conductive glue not more than 108Ω/cm2, and the anti-stripping strength at
2.5 Kg/cm2.
6). Coat the conductive glue or paste on the copper bar for conductivity in the gaps.


Welding: weld along the joint between the mat boards with 800-1000W plastic welding gun, and
take care to avoid any omission or incomplete penetration of welding, and ensure any
extension shall be made as smooth as that of the veneer board. Clean and polish the surface.

FAQ 3-  .Do conductive floor mats remove charges from personnel not wearing special footwear? Can static dissipative floor polish reduce charges generated by personnel not wearing special footwear?

In general, conductive floor mats perform best when personnel are wearing special footwear, either static control shoes or foot straps. The combination of mats and flooring with appropriate footwear creates a conductive pathway to ground to dissipate charges from the body. Most ordinary footwear is insulative, and when used with the mats or flooring, there is no conductive pathway between the body and the floor. Thus, charges on the body would not be dissipated satisfactorily.

Floor finishes tend to work differently from mats and flooring materials. They function partially by affecting the tribocharging characteristics of the interaction between flooring material and footwear. Thus, they may reduce the level of static charge generated on the body with special foot-wear. However, the actual performance can be affected by a number of factors such as humidity.
