Bazalt energy cords WATTAT consist of a core made of continuous basalt fiber and a braid of basalt thread. It is possible to use various braiding materials.

Basalt cords serve as an alternative to asbestos cords and are used for insulation of thermal units and heat-conducting systems of general and special purpose, they are used as a sealing heat-insulating element of thermal and heating equipment, flange connections of ducts, chimneys in civil and industrial construction, shipbuilding, aircraft building, metallurgy (heat-insulating seals pipelines, furnaces, equipment), as electrical insulation, at an insulated surface temperature of - 190 C to +700 C.

SMP-Mekhanika LLC has been producing eco-friendly, heat-insulating, fire-resistant products without synthetic binders, made of thin basalt fiber, under the WATTAT trademark since 2002. For more than 15 years, the company has been producing basalt sewing mats and plates.

In 2015, the company launched the production of continuous basalt fiber and the production of vibration-resistant insulation, composites, as well as a reinforcing base for composite materials.

Unlike the vast majority of mineral wool insulation materials, WATTAT insulation materials do not contain phenol-formaldehyde resins and other harmful substances. The production does not use the "positove" raw material fusible rocks, the modulus of acidity of the finished product MK > 4. The average fibre length reaches 50 cm. This makes it possible not to use binders for gluing fibers, which puts WATTAT products on a par with materials made of super - thin basalt fiber, but without their disadvantages-high price, low density of 20-35 kg/m3, heterogeneity of mats (assembled from pieces), high coefficients of mounting compaction. In the niche of high-temperature insulation, in terms of the ratio of environmental friendliness-price-quality-temperature of application, WATTAT products have almost no competitors. WATTAT products are designed for use in conditions that require high temperature resistance and environmental safety.

The main differences between thermal insulation materials produced without a binder, from materials with a binder:
- Durability, extended service life compared to materials with a binder, because the binder crumbles over time, which leads to the destruction of the material;
-Application temperature in the range from-200 C to 700 C, in products with binders at temperatures above 200 C, the binder burns out, at low temperatures it is destroyed;
- Resistance to aggressive environments, in products with a binder, the aggressive environment corrodes the binding resins, destroying the material;
- Complete environmental safety.

WATTAT sewing mats are manufactured in accordance with GOST 21880-2011, which specifies that the maximum temperature of application of mats containing organic substances should not exceed 450 C. After several years of operation on high-temperature pipelines, the insulation with the binder begins to crumble, exposing the insulated surface. This is due to the fact that a short fiber, on average about 5 cm, losing its adhesive composition, inevitably loses its coupling properties. WATTAT firmware mats are spared from this drawback. In the absence of serious vibrations, they can last for many years, creating a highly reliable thermal insulation layer.
