Fenbendazole (Hoechst brand names Panacur and Safe-Guard, Intervet Panacur and Panacur Rabbit) is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used against gastrointestinal parasites including: giardia, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, the Taenia genus of tapeworms (but not effective against Dipylidium caninum, a common dog tapeworm), pinworms, aelurostrongylus, paragonimiasis, strongyles and strongyloides and can be administered to sheep, cattle, horses, fish, dogs, cats, rabbits and seals.
Function
Fenbendazole is a benzimidazole insecticide. It not only has high insecticidal activity to adult and larvae of gastrointestinal nematode, but also has good effect on networm, Fasciola and tapeworm, and has strong insecticidal effect on eggs.
Application
For deer infected with Oster nematode, Cupressus nematode, Nematode Nematode, Trichinella caterpillars, Trichinella caterpillars and Filaria pneumoniae, 5 mg/kg was given orally for 3-5 days, which had good effect, and also had certain effect on Monitz tapeworm. For predatory birds severely infected with ascaris, sawworm, capillary nematode and trematode, 25 mg/kg for 3 consecutive days was effective for almost all of the above insects.
