Common questions

1, A:  What are the max charging voltage and the cut off discharging voltage of the LTO 18650 and the LTO battery pack?

    B:The single cells are slightly different form the battery packs. For the single cells, the max charging voltage is 2.8V and the cut off discharging voltage is 1.5V. For the battery pack, the max charging voltage should be less than 2.75V for the safety concern.


2, A: What are the max charging current and the max discharging current for the LTO batteries and LTO battery packs?

    B:The single cells are different from the battery packs in the terms of max charging current and the max discharging current. For the single cells the max charging current is required to be within 5C and the max discharging current should be within 20C. For the battery packs, the max charging current should be below 5C and the max discharging current is required to be below 10C for the safety concern.


3, A:What's the difference between the max discharging current and the max continuous current?

     B:The max discharging current is the peak current, which means when the discharging current reaches to it, the battery will be cut off to protect itself. The max continuous discharging current should be below the max discharging current. Take the LTO 18650 2.4V 1500mAh as an example. When max discharging current is 10C, the continuous discharging current should be 1C-8C. 


4, A:Can your company design the BMS? What's the function of it?

    B: Our company has an engineer team to design the BMS for the battery packs. We have the patent for the LTO battery packs, so only few factories in China can produce and design the LTO battery packs. The BMS stands for battery management system which is used to protect the battery packs from overcharging and overdischarging The BMS is very complicated and cutting-edge and also is very important and necessary in protecting the battery packs.


5, A:Why are the LTO batteries so expensive? 

    B:To be honest, the price of the LTO batteries is a little higher than the conventional Li-ion batteries. But the use-cost of the LTO batteries is much lower because the LTO battery's life expectancy is more than 10 times longer than other Li-ion batteries. The LTO battery can be charged and discharged more than 10000 cycles.
