About brass casting

Brass casting is an earlier metal hot-working process with a history of about 6000 years. Brass casting refers to the process of melting solid brass into liquid brass. Then poured into brass moulds of a specific shape and solidified and formed the desired shapes. Besides brass casting molds, it can also cast copper, iron, aluminum, tin, and lead. Green sand casting brass is one of the most reliable brass casting methods. The technique involves forming a single-use mold from a sand aggregate and pouring molten brass into that mold. The process of brass mould works well because of the green sand's ability to withstand extremely high temperatures.

Applications of brass casting

Brass casting is used in many industries, and brass components prove especially useful in household and construction applications due to the material's natural corrosion resistance. Brass foundries that rely on brass casting include architecture and construction industries and decorative applications. Examples: doorknobs, suspended-wire holders, closing parts for doors, casting brass jewelry, custom brass casting, brass die casting, contact line end terminals, and clamping pieces.

Standard methods used in brass casting

Yellow and red brass and silicon brass are the different brass grades used in brass foundry castings. Brass castings can be made using used various techniques. There are generally three brass casting methods in creating a brass casting. They have been proven suitable for brass casting and are as follows, lost-wax investment casting, die casting, and sand casting.

Advantages of brass casting

It is economical and offers a wide range of shapes and sizes. Brass die casting offers fastening elements as part of the design, and the parts are strong and have a long lifespan. CNC machining is used to refine the design to make the complex shape with great dimensional accuracy and stability than the other mass production methods. It also has high strength and high resistance to corrosion and rust.
