About products and suppliers

Using an egg tray makes it easier to store a large number of eggs. A typical tray can store 30 eggs in total. There is one slot for each egg lined up in five rows and six columns on the tray. Since the trays are molded to the shape of each egg, they can be stacked on top of each other during transport and storage. Bulk egg cartons can hold even more. They are designed to store up to 150 eggs on each tray. Bulk cartons may also double as incubator trays for live chicken eggs on farms.

An egg tray is made from either plastic or cardboard

A thick, plastic egg holdercan be washed and reused for new eggs. It can also act as a deviled egg container during dinner parties and similar gatherings. An egg holdermade from flimsier plastic or cardboard is usually disposable after one use. They do not offer as much support as thicker containers do. Quail egg cartons are also commonly made from plastic since quail eggs are smaller than chicken and duck eggs. Reusable versions of quail egg containers are available as well for a sturdier alternative.

Egg tray designs vary depending on where they will be placed

An egg holder for fridge use is usually more compact compared to a countertop egg holder. This is because refrigerators tend to have limited space. A refrigerator egg holder is stable enough that it can be placed on top of other items inside the fridge without causing any of the eggs to slip out and break. An egg tray for refrigerator storage may also easily fit into the shelves of the fridge. On the other hand, egg trays meant for countertops are bigger to fit more eggs. Most of them come with lids to protect them from any sudden movement that could cause cracks or breakage. Both refrigerator and countertop trays can have customized designs. Many egg companies tend to create egg containers with their branding on them to give out as freebies to their regular customers.
