Q: Can I connect another subwoofer to my sony soundbar?
A: The sub does indeed have an input . Two pairs actually . `` LINE IN '' means input . There 's also a speaker level input which you should ignore . You do n't state what you 're driving the soundbar with . Is it hooked up direct to the TV ? I 'll assume so as it 's an active type with a constructed in amplifier . The specification page for the vizio vsb200 state that it has a `` Line output to optional subwoofer , 2Vpp '' but I do n't see it on any of the photographs . The only connexions I find 's two audio inputs , a connector for the electricity supply and an optical connection . Perhaps it 's hidden someplace else or they just were no precisely truthful in their description which would n't surprise me as they describe it as `` HIGH DEFINITION SOUND BAR . '' High Definition is a video term . There is no such thing as `` High Definition Sound . '' The appropriate term is `` High Fidelity '' , but a sounds bar definitely 're not high fidelity . The only thing I can suggest , if it does n't find that line out for a subwoofer , is to get a pair of RCA splitters and divide the signal coming off the TV . Run one set of cables to the soundbar and one to the line inputs of the sub . The splitter will look like this : http : //www.google.com/products/catalog ? q=rca+male+to+female+splitter & amp ; hl=en & amp ; safe=off & amp ; client=gmail & amp ; rls=gm & amp ; prmd=ivns & amp ; resnum=2 & amp ; bav=on.2 , or.r_gc.r_pw. & amp ; biw=800 & amp ; bih=410 & amp ; um=1 & amp ; ie=UTF-8 & amp ; tbm=shop & amp ; cid=6193276051419878986 & amp ; sa=X & amp ; ei=nbHrTf2eA5LegQfohuHgCQ & amp ; ved=0CHwQ8wIwAA

Q: Soundbar or 5.1 home theater on a budget?
A: It is a good mixing , however , as the firstly responder pointed out , I are in agreement that a center speaker takes precedence over a sub . And subsequently , getting a rear pair to make it a full 5.1 should n't costs that much better . You can get a Polk CS-10 centre speaker for $ ninety-nine ( Half off ) , and a pair of Monitor 30s for the other $ 99.99 ( List of $ 230 ) at Amaz*n. So , for $ 1135 you 'd have a full 5.1 set with your chosen recipient , and a complete set of Polk speakers .
