About mirror cube

A mirror cube is a type of Rubik’s cube with variation in combination and shape as that of a standard 3x3x3 cube. Unlike the Rubik’s cube, in which the colors of the blocks vary, a mirror cube features pieces with the same color, either gold or silver, as reflective stickers. Also, each of the blocks has different rectangular shapes when compared to the uniform square pieces of a 3x3 standard cube. Invented by Hidetoshi Takeji in 2006, mirror cubes were initially called bump cubes due to their bumpy surface upon scrambling.

Types of mirror cube

Similar to the standard cube puzzles, a Rubik’s mirror cube does come in variations with difficulty levels to challenge the players. Currently, available options are the 2x2 and 3x3 cubes. Another popular type is a GAN mirror cube, which is designed with 48 magnet pieces, an adjustable tension system and good corner cutting for speed solving.
