Q: Operation of fuel pump in diesel engine?
A: injection pumping just enabling a metered amount of fuel into the injection line . the amount depending on the throttle/governor stance . this situation is how an elderly styling injection pumping is working . some diesels ha individual injectors rather than injector nozzles . they in fact are provided with fuel , a cam operated them , and a rack system regulated the quantity of fuel injected ( commonly used on larger diesels ) . todays modern-day diesel just pumps diesel to the injectors , these people are controlled electronically .

Q: Direct injection fuel pump?
A: Usually everywhere from 10,000-15,000psi . They are opened either by high pressure petroleum pressure that was governed by a solenoid ( older common rail injection ) or by a piezoelectric solenoids ( modern-day common rail ) . Or in older systems they were popped opening by the fuel pressure himself ( mechanical injection ) which pops the injector opening when the pressure is at one particular level .

Q: What is the main function of the fuel injection pump in a distributor fuel injection system?
A: . A system of fuel delivery where a particular amount of atomized fuel is fed into each combusion chamber at a specific time .
